Hosted by Professor Joseph Giacomelli, this week, the Film Society presents to you The Big Lebowski! Directed by the Coen brothers, The Big Lebowski (1998) drifts through a haze of mistaken identity, absurd encounters, and laid-back indifference. What begins as a simple misunderstanding unfolds into a meandering journey where plot gives way to mood, and logic dissolves into pure eccentricity. Deadpan, offbeat, and quietly philosophical, the film finds meaning in aimlessness and humor in the trivial. Beneath its shaggy surface lies a strangely comforting vision of the world — one where chaos persists, but so does the possibility of simply taking it easy.
