About

Exhibition “Thresholds and Threads” frames disability as part of diverse human experiences, viewing thresholds (physical/social barriers) as passageways and “threads” as metaphors for interdependent, care-based human connections. It challenges dominant independence narratives, advocating mutual reliance’s value. The exhibit integrates archival materials, visual art, oral histories, interactive installations, and community partner collaborations. Curated by students, it includes public programs (talks, workshops) to foster dialogue on inclusion. It invites reflection on access, exclusion, and interdependence, exploring thresholds as invitations and interdependence as a gateway to inclusive futures.
