Time:12:00–1:00 PM

You are warmly invited to join us for the Heritage Lab lunch and lecture with Professor Yujie Zhu, next Tuesday, August 26, from 12:00–1:00 p.m. in LIB 2123. Lunch will be provided.

Professor Zhu is a leading scholar of heritage studies whose research explores global museum practices, memory politics, and the role of culture in processes of reconciliation and peacebuilding. He has worked extensively on UNESCO heritage projects across Asia and beyond, and his insights bring a comparative, transnational perspective to questions of memory and commemoration.

His talk will mark the official launch of the HRC-funded Heritage Lab at DKU. The lecture and discussion will introduce our current UNESCO-supported project and discuss global trends in museum and heritage work.

About the Heritage Lab
The Heritage Lab is an interdisciplinary initiative funded by the DKU HRC that is co-led by historian Kolleen Guy and art historian/curator Jung Choi. The Heritage Lab provides a collaborative platform where faculty, students, and public partners can explore how histories of displacement, survival, and solidarity are remembered and reimagined. Through curatorial practice, digital storytelling, and public history, the Lab investigates how museums, media, and aesthetic strategies can evoke empathy, amplify marginalized voices, and create transnational spaces of remembrance.
