Love transcends every boundary of time and space.

Hosted by Professor Henderson, this Wednesday, DKU Film Society presents to you the masterpiece movie Interstellar (2014). Directed by Christopher Nolan, this scientifically rigorous and emotionally profound film is set in a dying Earth plagued by ecological collapse and global famine. It follows former NASA astronaut and widowed father Cooper, who embarks on an interstellar journey through wormholes to search for a new habitable home for humanity. Balancing the cruel laws of relativity, overwhelming cosmic loneliness, and unbearable familial separation, the film deeply explores humanity’s pursuit of survival, the weight of sacrifice, and the irreplaceable power of love that defies time and dimension. Beyond its breathtaking cosmic visuals and groundbreaking scientific imagination, Interstellar contemplates the bond between parents and children, the persistence of hope, and the essence of what makes us human. The screening will be followed by an in-depth discussion focusing on the film’s scientific concepts, philosophical themes, and emotional storytelling.
