Funding and Calls For Proposals

Apply for Funding from the Humanities Research Center

The mission of the Humanities Research Center is to advance humanistic research at Duke Kunshan University. Some projects are initiated by the directors in consultation with the board of advisors, but the majority of activities throughout the year are faculty-driven initiatives.

Faculty affiliated with DKU or Duke are regularly  invited to apply for funding for projects to be undertaken at DKU or jointly between DKU and Duke. We fund a number of projects throughout the year, including small grants (up to $5000), and large grants (up to $20,000).

All DKU-affiliated faculty and Duke faculty with a DKU connection are eligible to apply, but all projects must have a humanistic dimension.

Funding decisions are made in consultation with the advisory board.

If you have any questions please contact Chi Zhang at or either of the center’s co-directors.
