The Supercopa Final: A “derbi madrileño” in Saudi Arabia

By | January 10, 2020

It could have been a Clásico, but the Spanish Supercup final will finally be a “Derbi”, Madrid’s Derby, the other most iconic Spanish game. The 2020 edition of the “Supercopa de España” will see city rivals Real Madrid and Atlético de Madrid face off in Sunday’s final, played at 1:00pm. However, it will not take place in Spain’s capital, since for the first time it will be played abroad. Saudi Arabia has been the place chosen to host the Spanish Supercup, a choice that has been surrounded by great controversy. This decision joins similar scandals such as the Qatar World Cup, examples that point towards a similar trend that will need to be discussed.

The tournament began with four teams. After Atlético won against Barcelona, and Real Madrid beat Valencia, now Zidane and Simeone will once again meet this Sunday to try to win much more than a trophy.

Real Madrid is doing exceptionally well without Eden hazard, and i have to give credit to Zidane for managing his team back to their best again. And the good news is that their star signing Eden hazard is about to return from his injury soon says the real Madrid boss. Click here to read the news regarding hazard’s return from injury
