A week ago France qualified for the World Cup at the expense of the Irish. During the second leg between France and Ireland, William Gallas converted an equalizer thanks to an assist from Thierry Henry. Little did the referee know that Henry was not only offside but clearly handled the ball with his hands before giving Ireland the kiss of death. The game ended in a draw and saw France book their ticket to South Africa. The Irish football Association have petitioned FIFA to grant them a spot in South Africa as the 33rd team. The Irish knew they had very little chance of getting their dream restored. Instead, FIFA is trying to take new measures into consideration in order to prevent a similar tragedy in the world of Football.
