Egypt Manager

Héctor Cúper

Héctor Cúper, the 62 year old Argentinian in charge of the Egyptian national team, is a greatly experienced football manager. Cúper has coached clubs such as Valencia, Inter Milan, and Real Betis, along with the Georgian national team. Over the course of his nearly 30 year career, he has been recognized with various honors, including La Liga Coach of the Year, UEFA Club Coach of the Year, and European Coach of the Year. Despite his impressive track record, which notably includes success with the Egyptian side and its dramatic qualification for Russia, his defensive and conservative style has been met with a great deal of criticism. However, with Cúper set to depart from his position at the conclusion of the World Cup, his Egyptian legacy will surely be dictated by how much his men are able to accomplish this summer.
