DEID will work with the non-profit Restoring Hopes Ministries to design and construct this community health center. Last year, a DEID project team designed the general layout for the facility. We will continue their work this year as we finish the structural plans, design the stormwater drainage and septic systems, and continue to fundraise. A small group of students will travel to Kenya for a 2-3 week site assessment in Summer 2025, and a larger construction group will travel in Summer 2026. More information about the project is available here. Also, please join the Kenya 2025 Slack for project updates! Once you are a member of the regular DEID channel, you can click “Add Channel” and select “2025-kenya.” The Channel ID is C07M6G7U3AB. Also, please join us for an onboarding meeting on Sunday, September 29th from 1:30 to 2:30pm in Wilkinson 136! If you have any questions, please reach out to our Co-Project Managers, Lily Zheng (lily.zheng@duke.edu), and George Donnelly (george.donnelly@duke.edu).
