West Virginia 2020

The DEID West Virginia Team is designing a 35-foot-long vehicular bridge. By working alongside Duke’s Engineering 101 course, the team has made considerable progress on the design. The team is also working in conjunction with Johann Zimmerman Engineering, a structural engineering firm that has implemented many similar bridges in West Virginia. This bridge will provide sturdy, reliable infrastructure in a region that suffered from severe floods in 2015 and 2016. Construction will take place during Spring Break 2020.

Update!

Seven DEID members travelled to Left Hand, WV over Spring Break and worked on the construction of the bridge. Here are a few pictures documenting their work!
