Sandunie Liyanagamage is a Masters student at Duke University’s Nicholas School of the Environment. She is also an environmental consultant with seven years of experience in air quality and water quality compliance for primarily the oil and gas industry. Her interests include the implementation of business strategy to focus on driving sustainable outcomes in the ocean-based economy. She is also interested in learning the skills required to facilitate collaborations between businesses and communities when developing environmental management solutions. She hopes to contribute towards the global efforts surrounding ocean-based development while advancing the improvement of social equity for local communities.
