Oceans@Duke is an interdisciplinary community of faculty and students at Duke University working at the intersections of ocean science, policy and business to promote ocean sustainability.  We have formed this community to enable faculty and students to connect and collaborate across all parts of Duke University, including Nicholas School of the Environment, Fuqua Business School, Duke Law School, Sanford School of Public Policy, Duke Medical School, Pratt School of Engineering, the Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy Solutions, and Duke Kunshan University in Kunshan, China.  We serve as a clearinghouse for new opportunities, a facilitator for interdisciplinary collaboration, and an amplifier to increase the scale and impact of our individual efforts.

Oceans@Duke also taps its network of experts and collaborators to bring innovative, practical insights to bear on urgent ocean sustainability challenges.  We do this through educating current and future generations of ocean leaders, fostering interdisciplinary research and thought leadership, and connecting with ocean stakeholders to turn ideas into reality.

To accomplish our mission, we strive to include a wide range of voices and perspectives into the conversation, and recognize the stake we all have in flourishing ocean ecosystems, just communities, and sustainable ocean uses.
