A Word From the Faculty

Student Testimonials (from Course Evaluations)

  • “The class is a high-quality class, where we discuss and learn essential soft skills for managing, leading, and coaching teams. In every session, on the discussions professor and TA make sure everyone is getting the concepts and let us participate actively so the class could be dynamic and makes us feel that everyone’s opinions count. In general terms, the accountability of the students is very high, and the views and comments are pertinent and candid.”
  • “Overall, this was one of my favorite courses. I looked forward to this course. I found the content worthwhile and the instructor definitely provided a lot of it. The structure was well presented to the students, especially on the Sakai Platform where it gave a week-by-week layout of what is expected from the students; required weekly readings, assignments, anything else. The approach was well thought out and provided meaningful awareness. Lastly, the educational value is immeasurable since it had so much real-world value in it.”
  • “Enough cannot be expressed about the overall usefulness and quality of this class. If I did have to choose the most useful aspect, however, I would have to say the very engaging classwork/discussions along with some of the assignments. The classwork/discussions always had me want to participate and even though being remote, I felt that I was in a small family where no opinion or thought was dismissed. For the assignments, I’ll admit that some took a good amount of time to coordinate and accomplish, but that was actually a benefit.”
  • “Individual and team assignments were all very valuable – especially writing my personal leadership brand, team feedbacks, giving recommendations in simulated scenarios, and interviewing industry professionals. I think these exercises gave me valuable insights and gave me the opportunity to work with my team to become better leaders/managers.”
  • ”The course aims to help us improve management skills practically. There are many case studies and role plays which put us into that situation to practice interacting with persons. I think the course is of high quality and helpful.”
