Main Engineering Buildings

Duke Engineering is headquartered on Duke’s West Campus and is made up of four main buildings.

  • Fitzpatrick Center (also named FCIEMAS)
  • Hudson Hall
  • Teer Building
  • Wilkinson

MEM students spend most of their time between FCIEMAS and Teer. You can learn more about these buildings, other engineering learning spaces, maps, directions, and floor plans on the Pratt Website. 


Building Access

The main entrances to Teer, Hudson, and FCIEMAS are open Monday through Friday from 7am – 7pm. Your DukeCard is programmed for 24/7 access. If you find yourself locked out of a building and your DukeCard is not working, contact Duke Police non-emergency (919-684-2444) for access.

The SymMon app shows current DukeCard status should you have any questions on your access or COVID-19 requirements.


Changing Rooms

There are gender-specific changing rooms located on the basement level of FCIEMAS. These rooms have space to hang up clothes, cubbies for toiletries, and showers. Access to the changing rooms is with your DukeCard.

Food Service

Twinnie’s is located on the lower level of FCIEMAS offering breakfast pastries,  sandwiches, and fresh salads in addition to its classic blends of coffee and beer on tap. Open 8am – 6pm, Monday – Friday. Twinnie’s is closed on the weekends.

There are also vending machines for small snacks, candy, and soda in the basement level of FCIEMAS.


Gender Neutral Restrooms

Gender neutral restrooms are located in the Teer basement level (two single stall) and Hudson Hall Annex has one on the basement level, two on the first floor, and two on the second floor.


Lost & Found

There is a lost & found located in the Dean’s Office on the 3rd floor of Teer. You may email Emma Albright to inquire about a lost item, or stop by 305 Teer Building.


MEM Student Lounge

A small study room for quiet work or small group work is open to you in Fitzpatrick Building, room 3240 B. The key pad code is 1-5-2-enter. Make sure to keep the room clean and tidy! On occasion this room may be booked for a club event or workshop, please adhere to any signs in the door.

Lockers

There are a select number of lockers available to MEM students to use during your time in the program.  Student lockers are located in the student lounge and are available on a first-come, first-serve basis pending availability. Students must provide their own locks.


Parking

There is no immediate parking outside FCIEMAS or Teer Buildings. The closest parking deck is the Bryan Center (PG4).  The cost is $2/hour or $12/daily. Parking is free on Sundays in the surface lot only from 8am – 1:30pm. This parking deck often fills to capacity during weekdays. To view details or browse other parking lots, click here.


Prayer & Meditation Space

A prayer and meditation space is located on the 3rd floor of Fitzpatrick Building. You can find the space near the end of a long corridor behind 3217. This space is open 24 hours and available to the Pratt Community.


Smoking Policy

Effective July 1, 2020, Duke University is smoke-free  on all property and grounds owned and leased by Duke. This includes the use of all tobacco-based products, including but not limited to cigarettes, cigars, cigarillos, hookahs, chewing tobacco, snuff, and electronic smoking devices such as e-cigarettes, vaping products, and IQOS.
