Joey Guan undertook an ambitious translation project to make TED talks and other videos about gender equality, feminism, and disability justice internationally accessible. Countries like China, where the internet is heavily monitored and regulated, do not have access to much of the web content we take for granted in the US. Joey provided Chinese captions and broadcasted the videos to large audiences in China on the website Bilibili.com. His efforts are developing into a team collaboration that will continue into the future.
Take a look at some samples of his work! Some of these videos have drawn as many as ten million views, and are stimulating passionate conversations about cultural values around the globe.
