Curricular Practical Training (CPT)

Duke Visa Services maintains up-to-date and accurate information regarding the work authorization of international students.

Overview of Requirements for CPT

1. Students studying on an F-1 visa.
2. Students have completed at least one academic year of study with the program.
3. Students are interning in the US.
4. Student’s internship must be related to the MEM degree.
5. Students must have the letter of employment in writing
   • Letter of employment must contain specific starting and ending dates (not a range), the physical worksite address, name of supervisor and his/her contact information, salary, and a brief description of the employment.
