Incoming Student Questions

• When will I be assigned a cohort? When will I be pre-enrolled in my core courses?  Cohort assignments and pre-enrollments will be made the made the first and second weeks of June.
• When can I register for electives for the fall semester? Elective registration begins for incoming MEM students in mid- June, after you have been pre-enrolled in your core courses. Students may register for up to 2 three-credit electives in DukeHub.
•  How many electives are we allowed to take?   Beyond the required for electives required for the MEM degree, you are welcome to take as many as you like.  If you will exceed your unit limit for the semester, please consult your academic coordinator.
• If I complete my 4 core courses and 4 electives within the first 2 semesters – would I be allowed to attend the 3^rd semester and take up more electives, or are there any limitations I should be aware of?  You must save at least one degree requirement for your final semester.  This is why we tell everyone they must wait and take EGRMGMT 551: The Internship Assessment course in the semester in which they plan to graduate.
• Do we need to pay additional tuition fees to enroll for those extra elective courses if I’m taking it within the 3 semesters? No, you do not. Another reason some call it the bonus semester!
