Course Description/Synopsis

The Sustainable and Resilient Operations and Supply Chains course equips students with the knowledge and tools to drive sustainability in modern business. The course explores circular economy strategies, carbon footprint reduction, and ethical labor practices while emphasizing sustainable product and process design. Students will learn to integrate sustainability throughout the supply chain, from raw material sourcing to end-of-life management, using lifecycle assessment tools and ESG frameworks. The course examines how emerging technologies like AI, digital twins, and automation enhance efficiency, waste reduction, and circularity. It also explores sustainable procurement, supplier collaboration, and the role of data-driven decision-making to support corporate sustainability initiatives. This course will help prepare future sustainability leaders to develop and manage resilient, responsible, and future-ready operations and supply chains.
