Waitlists

If you wish to register for a course that is full, you may choose to join the wait list. Note: Wait listed course credits count towards your credit limit (13 credits is maximum unit load for MEM students).

YOU WILL NOT ROLL OFF THE WAITLIST IF:

  • You have a hold on your record (i.e. bursar or immunization);
  • You are registered or waitlisted for a different section of the same course;
  • You have exceeded the credit limit for the semester (13 units);  or
  • You are enrolled in a class that meets at the same time as the one for which you are waitlisted (the system will read this as a “time conflict” error).

Note:  The fact that the system allows you to add yourself to a waitlist does not guarantee that you will be enrolled should space become available.

If any of the above hold true, you will be skipped over and the next eligible person will be enrolled in off the waitlist.

For more information and to see what other possible situations that may block your enrollment off the waitlist, please visit the University Registrar’s Web site and policy on waitlists at https://registrar.duke.edu/policies/waiting-lists.

Please do not ask the faculty to admit you in off the waitlist.  We want to be fair and let the system work the way it is intended.  Please do not put them in the situation of having to tell you no.
