Duke Microbiome Center Activities

The Quantitative Biology of the Microbiome Symposium
Microbial communities play a critical role in human health, the environment, and agriculture. Predictive control of the microbial community dynamics represents a fundamental challenge, in part due to the high dimensionality of the community interaction networks. The symposium will bring together leading experts to share perspectives in utilizing quantitative approaches, including machine learning, to explore the design principles of microbiomes or to engineer microbiomes for applications.

Microbiome and Microbial Genomic Services
The Duke Microbiome Center (DMC) offers genomic and bioinformatic expertise through collaboration as well as shared resource services.

Bioinformatics Group
The DMC Bioinformatics Group provides consultation, analysis, and educational activities for microbiome scientists at Duke.

DMC Research-In-Progress Talks
A forum for sharing and learning about microbiome research at Duke.

Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
The DMC supports efforts to improve diversity, equity, and inclusion at Duke and beyond.
