Welcome back to Journal Club! We are looking forward to seeing everyone on August 27th at 5PM in the Tyor Conference room.

This month, Jeff Basile will present a paper on Celiac disease by Lebwohl et al entitled: Mucosal healing and risk for lymphoproliferative malignancy in celiac disease. Annals of Internal Medicine. 159: 169-175. 2013. PMID 23922062. Please note that there is an accompanying review by Forsmark: Why take follow-up Biopsies in celiac disease?

Majed El Zouhairi will present a paper by Singh et al entitled: Liver stiffness measurements are associated with risk of decompensation, liver cancer, and death in Patients with Chronic Liver Diseases: a Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis from Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology 2013 ePub ahead of print. PMID 23954643.

Cindy Moylan will present a paper  by Gentry et al: Addressing geogrpahic disparities in liver transplantation through redistricting. Am J Transplantation. 13: 2052-2058. 2013. PMID 23837931.

Cristal Brown will present a paper by Von Renteln et al: Peroral endoscopic myotomy for the treatment of achalasia: an international prospective multicenter study. Gastroenterology. 145: 309-311. PMID 23665071.

If time permits, Cristal will also present the recent review by Bonavina et al: LINX reflux management system in chronic gastroesophageal reflux: a novel effective technology for restoring the natural barrier to reflux. Therapeutic Advances in Gastroenterology. PMID 23814607.
