Here are the articles for the April 23rd GI Journal Club. Looking forward to seeing everyone there for another excellent discussion of what is new in our field.

Cristal Brown will present a paper from Hepatology: Second Infections Independently Increase Mortality in Hospitalized Patients with Cirrhosis: The North American Consortium for the Study of End-Stage Liver Disease (NACSELD) Experience by Bajaj et al (PMID 22806618).

Travis Cox will present the esophageal paper from Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology: Proton Pump Inhibitors Reduce the Risk of Neoplastic Progression in Patients with Barrett’s Esophagus by Kastelein et al (PMID 23200977).

Jeff Basile will present the hot topic: Fecal Microbiota Transplantation for Clostridium difficile Infection: Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis by Kassam et al from this months American Journal of Gastroenterology (PMID 23511459).
