Previous educational background: B.S. Biochemistry, Biology, and Chemical Biology with a minor in Environmental Studies; Brandeis University
Research Project: My research project focuses on the antifungal action of histatin-5. Of particular interest is the effect essential metals have on that antifungal activity. I use cellular assays along with fluorescence microscopy and other chemical biology techniques to unravel the mysteries of histatin-5. Personal Bio: I am an avid soccer fan and enjoy following the local teams in the area as well as my EPL team. When not watching soccer, I enjoy cooking and baking treats for the lab as well as going on outdoor adventures in the woods and out by the coast! |
