COVID-19 Vaccine Information

At Duke Health, our top priority is safety and protecting the health and well-being of our patients, their loved ones and our team members. We are closely coordinating with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) and local health departments to develop safe, efficient and equitable plans for COVID-19 vaccine distribution.

This webpage is available as a resource for you to make an informed decision for receiving vaccination. Currently, there are no plans to require COVID-19 vaccination for any Duke University, Duke University Health System or PDC employees. Duke University, Duke University Health System and PDC employees will receive the COVID-19 vaccine at no cost.

Pfizer Booster Shots for Eligible Faculty and Staff

The Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced that COVID boosters would be available for certain eligible populations. At this time the eligible populations include those who have received their last dose of Pfizer vaccine over 6 months ago and who are:

  • Age 65 years and older,
  • working in healthcare facilities,
  • working in schools.

Booster shots are available by appointment only(link is external) (except DRAH) at the following dates, times and locations:

Blue Devil Tower:

  • Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday: 8 a.m. – 4:15 p.m.

Duke University Hospital/Duke Medical Pavilion 2W96 

  • Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday: 7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.,
  • Saturday: 7:30 a.m. – Noon

Duke Regional Hospital: 

  • Monday – Friday: 8:15 a.m. – 4:15 p.m.

Duke Raleigh Hospital: (no appointment necessary)

  • Monday – Friday: 7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.

While the booster shot is not a condition of employment for Duke University or Duke University Health System at this time, we encourage all eligible individuals to receive a booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine to protect you and others from potential infection.
