ViTaL Interest Group Meeting – Distributing Your Videos

Join the Duke Digital Initiative in the Office of Information Technology (OIT) for the next Videos in Teaching & Learning (ViTaL) interest group session:

“Distributing Your Videos”
presented by Todd Stabley, Senior Media Engineer, Media Technologies, OIT; Sonja Foust, Senior Program Coordinator, News & Communications; and Jolie Tingen, eLearning Applications Specialist, CIT

You know what you want to do with videos, and you’ve created them. Now how the heck do you get them to the people who need to or want to see them? Come to this session to find out about options for distributing videos to Duke classes, to the public, to groups of people you designate, and more! Included among the options are Warpwire (used from Sakai or on its own) which is as easy to use as YouTube but with the added ability to easily secure videos (and collections of videos) using Duke NetIDs and groups (such as course groups). You will also learn about making your videos available in iTunes U and iTunes and YouTube. If you have other ways to share videos, please be ready to share your ideas with the group!

Date: Thursday, February 19 (Due to weather, this has been rescheduled to March 9.)
Time: noon – 1:00 pm
Location: RENCI Conference Room, OIT Telecommunications Building (directions)

No registration is required. Feel free to bring a brown bag lunch.

A complete schedule is available here: http://vital.oit.duke.edu/peer-support/  Meetings are open to faculty, staff, and students, although topics will focus on faculty interests.  In addition to attending the meetings, you can join the mailing list, vital@duke.edu, by going to https://lists.duke.edu/sympa/subscribe/vital.
