XSEDE: Big Iron Computing for Duke Researchers workshop – Register now!

Join Tom Milledge, Duke Research Computing, to learn about XSEDE on Sept. 29.

XSEDE: Big Iron Computing for Duke Researchers
Date: Tuesday, September 29
Time: 1:30-4:30 pm.
Location: RENCI Conference Room, OIT Telcom Bldg. (campus map)

Direct Registration Link: https://training.oit.duke.edu/enroll/index.php/public_research/show/1257

Session Description: XSEDE (https://www.xsede.org/) integrates HPC clusters, data resources and tools. Currently, XSEDE resources include more than a petaflop of computing capability and more than 30 petabytes of online and archival data storage. Researchers can also access more than 100 discipline-specific databases. XSEDE provides access to resources that cannot be provided on campus, such as users who need access to very large parallel jobs, huge amounts of total jobs, or large data access and visualization. Duke participates in the XSEDE Campus Champions program and this class will include a tutorial on using XSEDE clusters. To participate in these hands-on exercises, please sign-up for an XSEDE account (https://www.xsede.org/using-xsede#portal) no later than Friday, September 25th, and bring a laptop to the workshop.
