Duke Student – Patrick Royal authors online MATLAB tutorial

Patrick Royal (OIT Student Technology Trainer) became a lynda.com author in spring 2013!  During the spring semester, he wrote a series of scripts about MATLAB, and then at the start of the summer he flew to the lynda campus in Carpinteria, CA to record the videos.  The final product was uploaded in July as ‘Up and Running with MATLAB‘. This tutorial, along with all of the other 104,000+ videos available through the lynda.com online training library. Duke faculty, students and staff can go here to connect: training.oit.duke.edu/lynda.  Patrick is now working on a new tutorial based on Java EE, slated to be released near the beginning of next year.

lyndaCampus Feature: Michael Palko uses lynda.com at work & home

Michael Palko – Maestro Care Principal Trainer, Cadence – Duke University Health System found lynda.com tutorials helpful for learning Visio to create diagrams and related workflows involved in the day-to day activities as part of the Maestro Care implementation.  Palko said, “After viewing the online tutorial, I was able to create some extremely valuable documents that will not only be of benefit to me as an instructional designer in creating curriculum for training, but will also benefit DUHS staff in analyzing and improving efficiency, as well as the System Analysts who are building and configuring Maestro Care.”

Michael also has a personal interest in photography so the iPhone Photography, from Shooting to Storytelling lynda.com tutorial caught his attention. With the launch of lyndaCampus, Michael was able to download the lynda.com app for his iPhone and watch this tutorial during his lunch and at home. Check out some of Michael’s latest photos:
