Description:

  • What is the best type of camera for the type of work I need to do and my budget?
  • There’s like six different kinds of HD, what is the right one for me?
  • What settings should I use with my camera?
  • MP4, MOV, WMV, F4V, MTS, what’s this all mean?
  • What are the right settings in my editor that will allow me to get the most out of my project?
  • How can I make my video render faster?
  • I want to share video with my colleagues, what’s the best way?

This lunch and learn will focus on aspects of technical video during the course of producing various media products.  Central to the discussion will be the concept of production workflows that are the processes which interconnect the cameras, editors, deliverables and ultimately viewers with our products.  We will discuss various tools and settings that can enable your efforts from consumer products you may have in your pocket to prosumer gear that rivals the quality professional equipment.  We will talk about editing software and technical philosophies that will assist you during the post production process.   We’ll also discuss CODEC’s and how to optimize your workflow around them to produce products that realize their full potential.
