Research Computing has been laying the groundwork for an upgrade to the scheduler that pushes computational jobs out to the nodes on the Duke Shared Cluster Resource (DSCR). At the end of the month, the first of a series of events takes place to help DSCR users get acquainted and productive with the new scheduler.
On Thursday, May 29, from 11 a.m. to noon, Tom Milledge will offer a workshop called “Intro to SLURM on the DSCR: Getting SGE scripts moved over to SLURM.” The class will cover the basics of using the SLURM scheduler and is recommended for both new and experienced DSCR users. Tom will also explore ways of migrating existing SGE submission scripts to SLURM. Registration is available online: http://training.oit.duke.edu/reg/.
