Welcome to the Duke Culture Lab in the Department of Psychology & Neuroscience

Research in the lab analyzes how culture—as a set of meanings and practices that make up the daily realities we face—interfaces with biology to influence our thinking, feeling, and behavior.

Our aim is to examine the influence of culture at multiple levels, including the brain, everyday language use, implicit measures, and big data. To pursue this overarching research agenda, we have examined the many forms of interdependence, norm psychology and self-perception.
