Born in 1896, Desdunes was a bandleader who formed the Joyland Revelers with A.J. Piron. The group toured throughout the South and also was well-known in the Midwest. Desdunes died in Arizona in 1934. (See Al Rose and Edmond Souchon, New Orleans Jazz: A Family Album, p. 35).
