Caffery Darensbourg is my great uncle. He died in Dallas, Texas, in 1940.
Hallo Diane Richardson! I hope you read this. I do some research on Caffrey and Percy Darensbourg as they were both prominent banjo players. If you have any information to share, please contact me. My e-mail address is aronsen.falk@bredband.net. Best regards Lars
Caffey and Percy Darensbourg are my Grandmother Leah Darensbourg Guillaume ‘s nephews. I never knew anything about them being prominent banjo players. If you have other pictures of them I would love to add them to our Ancestry tree. I am interested in their training to play the banjos. This is fascinating. Thank you.
So glad you have encountered them here! This is the only photograph that we have found of them, though there might be others. The Hogan Jazz Archives at Tulane is an incredible resource for information and photographs about New Orleans musicians if you are able to pursue the research there. Thank you for writing!
