Application Information
Applications for the 2026 SALUD cohort are now closed, and students for this cycle have been selected.
SALUD welcomes continued interest from prospective students, families, and community partners. Applications typically open each December, with students applying in December and receiving decisions in late December or early January.
Who Can Apply
SALUD is open to 9th–12th grade students in Durham, North Carolina who are interested in health-related fields and exploring health through a social justice lens.
When Applications Are Open
The SALUD application includes:
- Student demographic information
- Required consent and participation forms, including parent/guardian permissions

A short response prompt, completed in a format of the student’s choice (written, video, audio, art, or interview)
