About Online Learning

Online learning is pervasive in higher education today, and increasing numbers of faculty are being expected to teach in that environment. Many faculty, however, have not been prepared to teach in an online environment, and some are skeptical about whether it is “as good as” the traditional face-to-face methods.  In this section, you will find a summary of evidence about the effectiveness of online teaching and some general considerations to keep in mind as you continually develop your pedagogical expertise in this area.
