The ODE Design Hackathon is an engineering design-centric educational opportunity for middle school students and their teachers. Students and their teachers will participate in an introductory engineering design activity and use rapid prototyping tools (3-D printing, laser cutting, and Arduino programming) to design and create devices.
Each year, we partner with one DPS middle school to create the Engineering Design Cohort for eighth grade students with an interest in STEM. Students in the cohort will attend 5 engineering design lessons at their school in January-March, then take a field trip to Duke for the Hackathon on Friday, March 28. This year, we are partnering with Lowe’s Grove Middle School!
This program is FREE! Lunch and snacks will be provided.
