Summer Design Camp

for teachers

The ODE Summer Design Camp also functions as a professional development and training opportunity for middle and high school STEM teachers. Teachers are invited to participate in the camp to learn engineering design alongside the students.

Teachers are paid $5,000 for their participation in the summer camp and subsequent implementation of their design-centric lesson plans. Additionally, ODE will provide up to $1,000 worth of supplies to support lesson plan implementation.

The next Summer Design Camp takes place June 23-July 25, 2025!

• What to Expect •

On Monday through Thursday each week, teachers will observe and support students as they are introduced to and apply the engineering design process.

On Fridays, teachers with work with the program leaders to create design-centric instructional content that they can take back to their classroom.

As a part of the program, teachers will design and implement at least two lessons that use the aspects of the engineering design process to enhance students’ engagement and content understanding. Implementation will take place during the falling school year.
