Representative Lindsey Prather is a dedicated advocate for North Carolina public schools, having attended them throughout her life. She graduated from the University of North Carolina Asheville with a degree in Sociology and a teaching license. After teaching for six years in Buncombe County Schools, she earned her Master’s in Public Affairs from Western Carolina University and now works with incoming transfer students at UNCA and collaborates with local community colleges. Her passion for community engagement led her to be involved in voter education and organizing candidate forums, promoting civic participation. In November 2022, she was elected to represent North Carolina House District 115 and serves on several committees, including Appropriations, Appropriations – Education, Education – Community Colleges, Education – Universities, and Local  Government. Lindsey Prather, along with her husband and dog Maeby, enjoys exploring the outdoors through biking and hiking in Candler.
