John Earl Cummings Jr.married to Carol with daughters Caroline 19 and Camree 17  was born in Lumberton NC on January 1 1970 to Educator Parents John Earl and Matland Cummings. John grew up in the Pembroke area where he attended school and entered the Army. After a career of 26 years John retired and returned home to his now deceased parents farm with his young family. John Returned to his roots in construction and started a General Construction Firm. In 2020 John was elected to the Robeson County board of Commissioners defeating a long time incumbent.
