James Gore

James Gore serves as Senior Program Officer at The Just Trust, launched with a historic $350 million grant from the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative which envisions a justice system that prevents crime, centers safety, and fosters real accountability, rehabilitation and healing. James leads state-based grantmaking in seven states including Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Oklahoma, West Virginia, Kentucky, and North Carolina.
Before the Just Trust, James served on the program team at the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation supports a variety of grantmaking areas including economic justice, racial equity, and immigrant rights. James graduated from Yale College with a BA in political science and is currently completing an MPA at UNC Charlotte. James lives in Charlotte with his wife, Tamara, and two children, Dial Jean and Ellington. James is an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Guardians and a sometimes golfer.
