Dr. Gregory McLeod | President, Edgecombe Community College

Dr. McLeod is a graduate of the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, North Carolina State University, and Barry University, where he earned a Ph.D. in leadership and education. His career began in teaching math at the middle and high school levels before transitioning to corporate training and marketing. Dr. McLeod entered the community college field in 2001, serving in various leadership roles in North Carolina, Florida, and Virginia before becoming the fifth president of Edgecombe Community College in 2018. He is active in several organizations, including the American Association of Community Colleges and the North Carolina Association of Community College Presidents, where he serves as board treasurer. Additionally, he is involved in various local boards and councils, including the Tarboro-Edgecombe Chamber of Commerce and ECU Health Edgecombe Hospital Directors’ Council. Dr. McLeod is a past president of the Tarboro Rotary Club and a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Sigma Pi Phi Boulé, and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society
