Frankie Roberts

Frankie Roberts, a native of Wilmington, NC, has a rich background in community organizing, job development, and individual/family coaching. After owning and operating a successful barbershop for nearly two decades, Roberts transitioned to become the Executive Director of Leading Into New Communities, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing shelter and
services for individuals returning from prison.
Motivated by personal loss, Roberts co-founded LINC, Inc. with Tracey Ray to address the challenges faced by those affected by incarceration and addiction. LINC’s primary mission is to empower men and women returning from prison to become productive members of society while also educating and motivating youth to make positive life choices. With an impressive track
record, LINC has successfully reintegrated over 3000 individuals since its establishment in 2002, with an 85% success rate in preventing recidivism.
Recognized for his contributions, Roberts has received numerous awards and acknowledgments.
However, he humbly attributes his success to the support of his parents and the community. Additionally, he has served as the Department of Social Services Board chairman and is a valued member of the Governor’s Statewide Reentry Council Collaborative. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Roberts cherishes his roles as a husband, father, and
grandfather. He considers himself fortunate to lead a dedicated team at LINC, Inc. that tirelessly works to identify and address the needs of individuals reintegrating into society after incarceration. LINC Inc. is not only an advocate for policy change and individual rights but also a provider of
direct services.
Through strong collaborations with various organizations, LINC develops the knowledge, understanding, and resources necessary for successful reentry. As a 501(c)3 non-profit organization based in Wilmington, North Carolina, LINC offers shelter and services to men and women released from local jails, state and federal prisons, and young adults removed from detention centers.
