David Farris is a distinguished community leader and businessman from Wilson, North Carolina, now residing in Rocky Mount with his wife, Marianne. He joined the family business, Farris Motors, Inc. (Jeep, Chrysler, Dodge, Ram), in 1973, where he served as vice president and general manager until the dealership’s sale in 2012. His leadership earned him Time Magazine’s Quality Dealer of the Year award for North Carolina. Farris is deeply involved in local and state affairs, serving on boards such as the North Carolina Center of Advanced Teaching, Carolina’s Gateway Partnership, and the Rocky Mount Area Chamber of Commerce. He has received numerous accolades, including the Old State Award from Governor Mike Easley and the Boy Scouts Distinguished Citizen of the Year award. Currently, Farris is the President and CEO of the Rocky Mount Area Chamber of Commerce, where his legacy of leadership and community service continues to thrive.
