Cathy Scott has focused her career on enhancing economic opportunities in rural areas, specializing in aligning   business needs with financial and other resources necessary for their establishment and growth. She currently serves as Executive Director of the Halifax County Economic Development Commission, concentrating on job creation, investment, and infrastructure expansion in the county. Since 2008, Scott has helped secure more than $90 million in state, federal, and other funds to support local economic and community development projects, including Don Pancho Authentic Mexican Foods, AEL Span, Carolina Chips, Binderholz, JBB Packaging LLC, and Roseburg Forest Products. She also serves as administrator for Halifax County Business Horizons, a nonprofit that has raised over $800,000 in the past five years to
support economic development initiatives.
