  • How can I get involved with dPS?
    • Since dPS is the umbrella organization for student service groups on campus, most individuals engage with dPS through other organizations. To learn more about the student groups on campus, check out the Student Service Organizations tab. 
    • First-years and sophomores also can get involved by applying for the dPS Fellowship. Applications open at the beginning of each fall semester. More  information about the Fellowship is available here.
  • What types of support does dPS offer?
    • Connecting
    • Advertising
      • dPS has an email blast that goes out to all students on a biweekly basis, and it is often used to advertise service events and opportunities.
      • If you or your organization has an event that you would like included in the blast, please fill out this form. 
    • Advising
      • dPS offers guidance to groups or individuals navigating through aspects of the Duke bureaucracy, such as student organization policies and Duke departments/institutional structures.
      • dPS supports student service organizations that are navigating SOFC annual budget and programming funds.
      • To access personalized guidance, please schedule a consultation.
  • What is a consultation?
    • Consultations are an informal space to get connected with community engagement opportunities, discuss your service interests, or get support navigating dPS finance. Both student service organizations and individuals can schedule consultations.
    • In a consultation, you can expect to chat with a member of dPS exec and an employee of the Duke Office of Civic Engagement.

  • I’m confused about accessing funding for my organization. What should I do? 
    • dPS offers financial support for student service organizations in the case that SOFC does not provide funding. For information about applying for funding, costs eligible for reimbursement, and general requirements, please refer to our MiniGrants tab.
