Welcome to the Duke Culture Lab in the Department of Psychology & Neuroscience.
Research in the lab analyzes how culture (a set of meanings and practices that make up daily realities we face) interfaces with biology to influence our thinking, feeling, and behavior.
Our aim is to examine the influence of culture at multiple levels, including the brain, everyday language use, implicit measures, and big data. To pursue this overarching research agenda, we have examined the many forms of interdependence, norm psychology and self-perception.
Please click on the research tab to learn more about each of these areas. You can also meet our team, see the ways our work has been represented in the popular media and check out how to join us!
