I am a PhD student in the department of Biology. I am broadly interested in reconstructing evolutionary history by studying development and gene regulation. As an undergraduate, I worked in the Angelini Lab at Colby College researching the regulation of wing polyphenism in soapberry bugs. Currently, I am studying the life history switch in the sea urchin genus Heliocidaris from indirect to direct larval development. I use a variety of experimental methods to explore the differences in early signaling events in planktotrophic and lecithotropic sea urchins.
