Litong was born and raised in China. She did her undergraduate degree in Marine Biotechnology at Xiamen University Malaysia. While in undergrad, she interned at the South China Sea Institute of Oceanology (CAS) and worked on Crown-of-Thorn starfish development, its outbreak detection, and prevention under Dr. Chang Chen. She is now studying the utse-seam tissue connection in the Sherwood Lab. Outside the Lab, she enjoys sports and watching movies.
