How To Volunteer

Volunteers are needed throughout the year, including summer and semester breaks to help sort and inventory surplus that are stages at the Duke Health warehouse at 100 Golden Drive in Durham. Typically we meet the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month from 6:00pm-7:30pm, although additional days/times may be added as needed. If interested, please sign-up for a volunteer shift via SignUp Genius at this link

All volunteers must be age 18 or older and capable of performing light physical activity including some bending, kneeling, lifting and carrying.  Please wear comfortable clothing and closed-toed shoes (no sandals). Unfortunately, the REMEDY space at the Duke Health warehouse is up stairs in a location that is not ADA accessible. There is no minimum number of hours required to volunteer with REMEDY.  Sorting procedure training at the warehouse will be provided by the REMEDY coordinator and/or experienced volunteers.

If you are looking for patient care volunteer experience, consider one of the many Duke Hospital volunteer programs offered through Duke Hospital Volunteer Services, call 919-681-5031 or go to:  http://www.dukehealth.org/patients_and_visitors/volunteer_services/programs

Feel free to contact the REMEDY coordinator john.lohnes@duke.edu with any questions.
