John Rawls and Lawrence David representing the Duke Microbiome Center (DMC) were among the coauthors of a new article in Nature Microbiology that explains the proliferation of microbiome centers at many institutions, as well as their diverse purposes, opportunities, challenges, and needs. This article also describes how a founding group of microbiome centers, including the DMC, have joined forces to establish the new Microbiome Centers Consortium which will facilitate sharing of strategies and information to support this growing and exciting field.
