Participation Agreement

All students studying away with Duke University on Duke-Administered, Duke-Approved, and Petitioned semester programs and Duke-Administered summer programs are required to sign and submit a GEO Participation Agreement in the semester prior to their departure. This agreement must also be signed by a parent or legal guardian. Students who fail to submit properly completed forms by the published deadline may not be placed on Study Away Agreement with Duke and may not be allowed to study on a GEO program.

Students will receive instructions via email for signing and submitting the agreement through AdobeSign after acceptance.

Duke-In Summer Programs Only

If you are participating on a Duke-Administered Summer program, the Participation Agreement also contains a Commitment to Participate form. This acts like a deposit, signifying that you have been accepted to, and have committed to participating in the program. Be sure to read the information in this commitment form carefully before signing it and submitting it to GEO. Students who choose to withdraw from a Duke-Administered summer program may face a withdrawal fee after the March 15th deadline. Please see the Withdrawal and Refund Policy for more information.

Duke-Approved Summer Programs

A Participation Agreement is not required for students attending Duke-Approved or Petitioned summer programs.
